I'd like to congratulate Mark Lowrey on passing his green belt test. Mark L. tested for about an hour on 2/1/2012 by:
* Falling Demo
* doing a basic 8 stance demo
* demo'ing a variety of Hand Leverages, Hand Grab Escapes, Open Lessons
* doing 2 hand forms
* doing 1 Staff form
* demo'ing a set of offensive attack lessons
* answering a list of San Soo fighting concepts
* doing a free-styling session with multiple attackers
Jimmy H. Woo's San Soo Kung Fu is kicking it into high gear in the city of Orange and La Mirada CA.

I want to say congrats to San Soo AFC's newest black belt, Mark Tenorio!
Mark had to pass a new enhanced black belt test that covered:- 45 lessons
- 3 hand forms
- 1 weapon form
- His own open hand form
- Q & A section
- Hand leverages demo
- Hand grab escape demo
- Favorite lessons demo
- Basic 8 demo
- Falling demo
- Freestyle workout
And for good measure after the demo I made Mark attack the guys so they could dish out a little pay back. Good job Mark!

We had 30 people make it to this gathering and made some new San Soo friends from Russell's Kung Fu San Soo in Murrieta, CA.

Folks,
Another Circle Stuff San Soo Gathering has come and gone. This was our 4th gathering and it was a great event. Kung-Fu San Soo friends gathering right near where the old Kung-Fu San Soo El Monte studio was located. This studio was the original location of Jimmy Woo's studio and then Jack took over Jimmy's studio when Jimmy retired.
Jack talked about Jimmy and the old studio. Michael and Shellee also talked about their time training with Jimmy and Jack. And Frank Duran made comments about training with Jimmy and Jack.
It was a great event. Most folks who RSVP'ed showed up.

I studied under Tony Feliz when he had a studio in East L.A. I remember Jack Sera and Gerald Okimura used to come out on thursdays for demonstrations. Though i live where there is no study my heart and thoughts are always on what i was taught. The last time i visited a study i could feel the rush that i would get when i worked out. And i always felt the confidence within me. Hopefully i will get a chance to visit your study.

i recieved my black belt from master jeff floyd of blanchard id about 13 years ago and had to quit shortly after that for a broken hip, so my question is. is there any kungfu studios in and around the post falls area still because jeff is no longer teaching it. it would be greatly appreciated if you can help me out with finding out

Hey Dave,
Congrats go out to you Mr. Skinner for receiving your Black Belt from Master Jack Sera.
Now you see why I wanted you to go and study from Jack.
This is what happens when you study at a studio where the studio owner/instructor actually teaches his students instead of simply treating you like some kind of cash cow.
5 years as a yellow belt at your previous studio, what kind of instructor keeps his student at one belt level for that long? I'd say not a very good one IMO!
